One of our latest exciting projects was installing a brand new set of bi-folding doors in a property in West Norwood, South London. We were asked to create a door that could provide easier access to their garden balcony, so we suggested a set of large glass bi-fold doors for their home.
Regularly featured on home improvement TV programmes such as ‘Grand Designs’ and ‘George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces’, bi-fold doors are proving incredibly popular amongst homeowners. With the versatility in opening options that they provide a room, it’s easy to see why.
What are bi-fold doors?
Bi-fold doors are arranged in pairs, mounted on a track. The doors slide along this track and fold, allowing you completely customisation over how much of a property you choose to open to the outside. In this project, installing bi-fold doors was the perfect way to help the homeowners access the outside easily.
Aluminium combi-frame doors
The bi-folds we installed were aluminium combination frame doors, with bi-folding doors attached to top hung and side hung aluminium windows. We chose these double glazed doors for the project because of their excellent energy efficiency and security features, as well as their enhanced aesthetics.
Enhanced natural light, beautiful aesthetics
Thanks to their slim sightlines, these aluminium bi-fold doors accommodated large panes of glazing which enhanced the amount of natural light that they could let into a room. They were the perfect choice for increasing the amount of natural light in the property.
